Your blocks stay yours.
This Privacy Policy explains how Ritual, operated by Codeful, collects, uses, and protects your information. If anything is unclear, write to us at codefulteam@gmail.com.

Summary
- Your app selections, schedules, focus history, and settings stay on your device.
- We don't collect your name, email, contacts, location, or any personal identifier.
- We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for anonymous usage patterns and crash fixes.
- All in-app purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.
- Ritual relies on Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time APIs to block apps you choose. Your selections never leave your device.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information stored only on your device
The following stay on your device (and, if you have iCloud Sync enabled in iOS Settings, in your private iCloud account — we cannot access iCloud data):
- The apps and categories you choose to block
- Your focus schedules and settings
- Focus session history (start time, duration, ended early or not)
- Your in-app preferences
We do not transmit, collect, or store any of the above on our servers.
1.2 Anonymous usage and diagnostic data
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google) to understand how the App is used and to diagnose crashes. This includes:
- App opens, feature usage events, screen views
- Device model, iOS version, app version, locale, and time zone
- Anonymous installation ID (resets if you reinstall the App)
- Crash logs and stack traces
This data is anonymous and aggregated. We do not link it to your identity.
1.3 Purchase information
When you subscribe to or purchase Ritual Pro, Apple processes the transaction. We receive a transaction identifier and entitlement status from Apple's StoreKit framework. We never see your payment method, billing address, or Apple ID email.
2. How we use information
We use the data described above only to:
- Provide and improve the App
- Diagnose and fix crashes
- Understand which features are used and which are not
- Verify your subscription or lifetime purchase status
We do not use any data for advertising. We do not sell or rent any data.
3. Family Controls & Screen Time
Ritual uses Apple's Family Controls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity APIs to block apps you select during focus sessions and scheduled windows.
- App selections you make through Apple's app picker are anonymized tokens — not the actual app names. These tokens are meaningful only on your device.
- All blocking is enforced locally by iOS. Nothing about your blocked-app choices leaves your device.
- We do not have any way to see which apps you have selected.
4. Third-party services
| Service | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Apple StoreKit | Process in-app purchases and subscriptions | Transaction status, entitlement |
| Firebase Analytics (Google) | Anonymous usage analytics | Events, device model, app version |
| Firebase Crashlytics (Google) | Crash diagnostics | Crash logs, device model, app version |
| Apple Push Notification Service | Deliver local reminder notifications | Device token (when notifications are enabled) |
Each service has its own privacy policy:
5. Data sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with third parties, except:
- With Apple and Google as described above (purchases and analytics)
- If required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety
6. Your rights
Because we don't collect personal identifiers, we don't maintain user-specific records you can request access to or delete. If you want to remove all locally stored data, simply delete the App from your device.
For users in jurisdictions that grant additional rights (such as the EU's GDPR or California's CCPA), you can contact us at codefulteam@gmail.com with any privacy questions.
7. Children's privacy
Ritual is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us so we can address it.
8. Data retention
Data stored on your device persists until you delete the App. Anonymous analytics data sent to Firebase is retained according to Google's retention policies.
9. Security
Because most data lives on your device, your iOS device-level security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID) protects it. The minimal data we send to analytics services is transmitted over HTTPS.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the App.
